Workshop: The Cinema of Absurdity

WatershedElia Suleiman stands out from many other Palestinian film makers for his surreal stories of the daily lives of Palestinians under Israeli occupation. His cinematic style is a constant balancing act between burlesque and seriousness, humour and poetry. This workshop will introduce participants to his work and provide the opportunity to explore how the director uses absurdity to portray tragedy.
